This weekend.... weather permitting of course.... I have been invited on a HALO jump with the Airborne on a joint exercise...... It should be great! It's been a while since I walked out of a perfectly flying airplane to plummet 30,000 feet!!

As great a technological advancement digital communication has been, we have lost so much because of it. No one writes letters. Communication is by text or e-mail. We have all the letters an uncle of my wife's sent to his Mother from WWII. His plane went down 10 days before the Germans surrendered. Generations later, there is still a written record of him and his thoughts. Today... When our son has been deployed we have nothing. His communication with us has been by cell phone, e-mail, etc. Families used to have boxes of photos. There were albums put together showing a life from birth through childhood and into adulthood. Today... Some may have a thumb drive tossed in a drawer somewhere. There just isn't the paper record that kids and grandkids can look at... and laugh! Ask kids today to sit down a write a letter. They will just stare at you. Grandkids get a kick out of going through photo albums... at the grandparents' home. Ask them to show us a photo of what they looked like 10 years ago and you get that same blank stare. Many years ago, I had a project in a community with a large hospital. (That hospital has long since been shut down and demolished.) An area of the local cemetery was where amputated limbs were buried before an incinerator was installed. I always said that in a few hundred years as archaeologists made digs to find what their ancestors looked like, they would dig in this specific part of the cemetery. We would be depicted with four arms and six legs! :>) Today, with Photoshop, etc. can you imagine what will be on some of the thumb drives dug up 200 years from now? My sisters and I have picture paper pictures,,, many in various photo albums,,,, and boxes and boxes of pictures some framed, most not to go through we unburied in Moms closet. As far as the digital age, you are right. Pen and paper are a thing of the past so it seems. All I get in the mail is junk mail and bills. No writing there,, just black type. Get this,,,, I have the honor of scanning many pictures and making paper copies for my sisters. Soooooooo,,, there will be more photo pictures to pass down.. Of course, when I kick the bucket I don't know what will become of all my pictures,,,, I still have yet to find and buy photo albums, and what to hang and what to put in a box. Unless I win the lottery and buy a big enough house so I could hang every picture of hangable size. Still,,,, everyone will have their pictures from their parents, right down the line,,,, but for me,,,,,,,, no kids to pass anything on to,,, not even pictures,,, of? Family and moments caught in time,,, time frame ? late 1800's to,,,,, back before digital camera's took over. I like a film camera myself. Just the excitement of opening the pictures pouch and holding them.... Oh, and those you cam blow up,,,, digital not so much,, unless you spend a fortune on a fantastic digital camera where the picxles are in the billions so when a picture is enlarged it stays in absolute focus,,, like that of Film. My mom left behind many boxes of pictures......after reading your post I've decided to go through them and put in air tight containers for my family. |

I just hit "Print'' after finding someone or something worth capturing on my computer camera. I doubt if anyone will ever see these ''Pictures''. My own grown sons show no interest in camcorder films of them as toddlers. Their children will share this same indifference to the past. Today matters....nothing else.

I have jumped for years I first jumped when I was in training for my agency and was terrified until I stepped out of the plane and it was like being a bird I loved it and got addicted! I kept going higher and higher and then started HALO jumping at 30,000 feet... After that I volunteered for joint exercises when possible I got honorary Senior Jump Master status from the Airborne Yes we jump with oxygen and equipment including rifles My Director doesn’t like me jumping but she laughs and signs off each time... she always says “You are a department director what happens if your chute doesn’t open?” I said there won’t be a need to bury me hahah! My Chief of Staff also loves it but now they won’t let both of us jump at the same time anymore ah well.... |

The other day at work, finished up a job in the city. Got to the lights, I got the green light to turn onto the main artery in center city. I stepped on the gas to make a right from a side street when all of sudden,, whoosh. A car blew their red light and guess what? the ars hole was on his cell phone. I pulled up next to him and yelled as heads of people walking turned. I yelled, Hey A-- Hole!! get off your f-----g phone and pay the f---k attention!!!!! Really, I felt like dragging him out of his car and beating him. Now guess what? had I been on my cell phone and blew through a light there would be a cop right there. Everyone else seems to get a free pass. State Law,,, hands free only. But, I see it all the time,, cops NOT paying attention to the law themselves. Set the example you idiots with a badge.

I lend sister Xia money a while ago not so much just 1500 USD she just send me back check plus interest which overwhelmed me she wrote and say her business made huge profits so she wished to share with me.... 5,589 USD!!!! I love my sister but this was way too generous She say she made triple my investment in just 30 day!! My sister own 3 import/export stores in Taipei She very successful I very proud of her... She gave profit money to temple to my parents and to me!!  |

I love my partner with all my heart but she is totally insane jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!!! Our son loves to jump out of perfectly good airplanes. No idea why!! When he went to Airborne school, after being assigned to the 82nd, he begged to be the first one out of the plane. They asked if he had ever jumped before. He told them he hadn't, but always wanted to. They made him go second on that first jump. The next time up, they let him go first! When he went from the 82nd to the Pentagon, he really missed jumping for those three years. Ended up at Ft. Campbell with the 5th Group and was able to jump again. Where he is now, he doesn't get to jump. He's counting the days and hours, hoping his next assignment will be where he can go back to jumping. Has dozens of jumps out of perfectly good airplanes and runs at least one marathon each year. Has done some trail runs. Is signed up for a 50 miler this coming November. And, wonders why his knees are gone at age 36!! |

I wonder what “promise” Trump made to a foreign leader that the whistleblower made a complaint about?? No one in our area or even in my directorate seems to know... but whatever it was it had to be serious enough to report... this should give most of us shivers as it could be a possible criminal but maybe even more sinister issue including treason. Should it be treasonous the Republicans will have the rug pulled out from under them! They can’t just brush THAT away or risk looking like they too are involved... this might end up as a nothing burger or it might blow the top off the White House.... the Acting DNI is between a Trump and a hard place!! I don’t envy his job!! Ahhhh the scandals of Trump Continues!!!
