Sure easier when life is boring! Things supposedly happen in threes. That's two! Cross your fingers and hope there's not a third!!! :>) Let's hope not, for sure!

Drifter, I'm not sure where you live but we just got back from visiting a friend who used to live here on Long Island. Now she lives in Maine. Very remote and quiet. She loves it! Years ago she vacationed up there, fell in love with the place, sold their house down here and moved up there. Quiet. Very quiet. We get raccoons, fox, squirrels, all kind of birds, opossums, wild turkeys, deer, etc down here. We like the wildlife and enjoy having them as neighbors. In Maine we were walking to our car one day and a bobcat was walking across the yard. She looked at us probably thinking that much meat could feed her family for a week. Thankfully she kept on walking. Phew. My fingers are crossed that two is enough and there is no three! I'm sick and tired of nutjobs! Too many of them out there! Two 30 somethings moving to a remote place....where are they going to be employed? There are no real jobs here. My town is like a retirement community. Young people graduate and move on. We have the same wildlife visiting us too. Bobcats too. Not to worry about a bobcat attacking humans. Bobcats are the best pest control one could have.

It's possible, the couple are remote digital workers or early retired. Let's just hope they are the types who move and end up changing the are like they do most everywhere they land. Your taxes will skyrocket due to them and more like them flooding and realtors redeveloping the area.

She's going to be locked up for quite awhile after she's found guilty by jury. No doubt, she has a public defender. Nothing will be redeveloped here because most of the land is state owned. State will not let anyone build on the game lands or forests.

I guess I got confused, I didn't realize one of the people in the 30something couple were the same people you spoke of about who assaulted someone. OOPS!

I'm in trouble! Really messed up! Help!!! We had some friends in the other evening. Wife served the most delicious oatmeal/raisin/cinnamon cookies. There were still a few left over the next day and I ate them. As I was eating the last one, told my wife "Those are the very best cookies you've made in the 56 years of our marriage!" They were REALLY good, so I just wanted her to know I appreciated them. Her reply... "I picked those up the yesterday at Kroger's day old rack!" So, I told my fantastic wife... one the best baker/cook I know... that day old cookies from a grocery store were better than anything she had baked in all our years!!! She hasn't reminded me of that foo-pah, but I have the feeling it will go into her collection of things to bring up at just the right/wrong time!!!

Just a rant....
What the hell is wrong with republican voters that support the orange cheeto...he raves all the time that he's rich, a billionaire and promised, when he ran for president, he'd use his own money, didn't need anybody's help. So why the hell are you still sending your hard earned or retirement money to him? It all goes to legal fees.
Another rant... Abortions. Women should be the ones who decide what's best for their bodies. Sad, that abortion has to be placed on a voting ballot. If you don't want an abortion, don't get one!
How would men like it if it were placed on a ballot - "It will be a requirement for men to have vasectomy's." Or, If they rape a child, put it on the ballot - "Men will have to be castrated." Should we let the voter's decide those issues too?
Just can't stop shaking my head at the stupidity of some individuals. Their moral compass is way off.
Rant over............

Should we let the voter's decide those issues too? Just can't stop shaking my head at the stupidity of some individuals. Their moral compass is way off. Rant over............ In my 77 years on God's Green Earth, never have I been so amazed...worried...about how easy it was for a corrupt criminal to suck 30% of our citizenry into a cult. How could a single person seem to have such an easy time convincing people to shred the Constitution and destroy democracy for the sole purpose of elevating him to Supreme Ruler. Abortion... Much of this falls at the feet of churches. They have drilled into the heads of their parishioners women are subject to men. Men should be making the decisions. Women are to, first, bear and raise children no matter the cost whether it be a mother losing her life or bearing a child so deformed it can only survive a few hours after birth. There shall be no reliance on medical professionals. The only authority is the Church and the Church MUST override rights and privileges. Today, we have evolved to where a medically necessary abortion may result in a long prison term for the mother...and doctor... while the rapist walks free with a suspended sentence. Texas is patrolling some of it's borders to keep women from traveling to another state for an abortion. The actual military readiness of our military has been jeopardized by a male politician blocking hundreds of promotions because he doesn't want women in the military to have an abortion. If they're raped by their superior officer, will the woman be believed? Or, will she be made to carry to term and then be discharged for some b.s. reason. Our goal in life should be to leave the Earth and society better than we found it. My generation has failed this task!!! Not only have we allowed politicians to move the end of human life as we know it closer and closer, but our society is in chaos. Forced birth. Don't tax the wealthy or corporations. Make the workers pay the bulk of taxes to keep them poor and subjective to the wealthy. What? Is this some replay of ancient history? What? We can't afford to have medical care for all? Only those who can afford premium medical care should be able to have that luxury? Let the ne're-do-wells die in the gutter. Let their kids go hungry because the wealthy should have to pay taxes to provide lunches at schools. No, we've left a mess and it does not appear any quick cure is in site. I am seeing some light from GenZ. This past Tuesday, we saw voters come out to save women's rights and elect those who no longer want a cult to rule out Country? Is it enough? Will that light at the end of the tunnel continue to grow into November 2024? Let's hope so. Otherwise, we elderly will die on the sidewalks and curbs of America while our children will become indentured servants to a future of Christofascism and forced to bow to an orange fat man. Yes, I'm worried.....

We all should be worried. Sadly, not enough people are concerned with or aware of political criminals. Hitler knew that. It scares me that too many politicians, in this day and age, can not or will not see history repeating itself, until it's too late.
Who we ever learn?

Granddaughter and her fiance have 3 "house" dogs. 120 lb German Shepherd/Husky mix male. 110 lb full blood German Shepherd male. 70 lb Black Lab/Pit Bull mix female. Actually, all 3 are extremely well behaved... and smart. I was supposed to dog sit them tomorrow, but one of their friends is going to fill in. Went over this week to reacquaint myself with them. Ended up with the Shepherd on my lap, playing tug with the Pit/Lab mix, and having the Husky/GS mix curled up beside me on the couch.
As I said, they are very smart! The granddaughter will point her finger at her GS and say "Bang!". He'll drop "dead" on his side and just lay there not moving a muscle until she tells him it's okay to get up. When it's treat time, all three have to lay down side by side and not move. If one is out of line, they are told to "line up" and they do. Well, the Husky/GS mix has learned to open doors! If you don't lock the bathroom door, all of a sudden the door opens and a 120 pound dog is staring at you. This past week, the granddaughter came home from work. Raised the garage door and the Husky/GS mix was standing there "welcoming" her. He had opened the door from garage to laundry area and made him self at home waiting for her. They've not caught him at it, so don't know exactly how he is doing it. Paws? Mouth? Who knows, but he's got it figured out. Her fiance and she had their males before they met each other. Instead of being territorial, the two bonded right away. The female was adopted a few months ago. Had been abused. Has some noticeable scars. When they first got her, she would not go through a door. Granddaughter had to pick her up and carry her through doors. Would hide if they had company. The "boys" have adopted her as their sister and the three play together, sleep together and agitate each other.
When the granddaughter got the GS, I was afraid when he grew up she might have trouble controlling him. Heck! If she says jump, he jumps! Follows every command as if it's his duty to do so.
Enough about the great granddogs!
