CHAPTER 5:
Wanting to help if she could, she darted towards the kitchen unknowing that what she would find would forever change how the 'Golden Arches' would be seen in American society.
To her horror, in the kitchen she saw the undead groom, who had attacked several workers, and who turned and smiled at her and said, "You might as well join me, since you have already tasted blood and enjoyed it."
Racing through her mind was the thought of tossing a container full of hot grease in his face, but she lasily leaned against the counter and asked "Is my order ready yet?"
Forthwith, he quickly handed her a plate of freshly harvested brain matter from several of the victims in the kitchen.
Having just watched "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" on Netflix, she was surprised at how her taste buds came to life with the flavoring.
"My compliments to the chef", she quipped.

Having physically consumed the morsels of the McRib makers' mentality, she quipped to the murderous mate while grabbing his hand "There's a sleazy hotel right across the street and, suddenly, I have a burning desire to see how 'alive or dead' you really are!"

From McDonalds to a sleazebag hotel named "Woody's" for the sole purpose of having sex after just killing a number of fast-food workers is entirely too much like the age-old Bonnie and Clyde murderous romance.

Barbara always did have a neurotic propensity for all things offbeat and indulged in every opportunity that came her way almost as much as her penchant for all things normal like baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet's.

The penchant for Chevrolets was always puzzling in that a FORD (Found On Road Dead) would better fit her, now, vampire like demeanor due to the "Found On Relish Dead" she had left behind at the fast food establishment.

In a breathless voice that hinted of desire, she said "Don't pay any attention to the sign since most hotels have a couch or carpeted floor in the lobby and if the desk clerk causes any trouble he will end up like the fast food workers!"

Chapter 6
The noise of a siren in the distance stopped everyone cold in their tracks as it's shrieking wail grew ever louder as more and more sirens started to sound and culminate to a deafening roar throughout the city meaning only one thing.....darkness was descending upon the city and there were only mere moments left to seek safe shelter before 'the nameless ones' came from above to claim whatever and whomever was left out in the open.

Totally unbelieving in the occult or the supernatural, Barbara did her best trying to understand what was actually going on and the cause and hoping this was a dream or a hypnotic trance or something that would... and could... be explained by medical and/or scientific means, also allowing her mind to wonder if when the story was told... documented... the author(s) of said story would not be one(s) to use run-on sentences.

Of course, what Barbara didn't realize was that whether or not she believed in the occult or supernatural was of no importance whatsoever because she was part of it now, and had been ever since she licked the blood off her fingernail.

Then it dawned on her that whatever she licked off her finger, whether blood or something that was designed to resemble blood, was the root cause of what she was happening before her eyes and to find what the liquid's chemical makeup... or what it contained... could give answers towards finding an antidote and... if there was an antidote... get her life back to some semblance of where it used to be.

But the incessant wail of the sirens quickly jolted her back to the reality that she was now a part of not knowing if she were an actual player or an unwilling participant in the madness that was unfolding around her.
