so we sent anothher thing to Mars,, for what?. Too see where we came from? or to settle the planet, and make it like the earth, crime, crime crime. Death and mayhem. Each year that passes, the human condition gets worse and worse. Settleing Mars will change noghting. Rape and Murder, Kidnaping, death death death. Those who don;t see the change live in a F*cking bubble. First off, your conclusions are distorted, this is from US News: www.usnews.com/news/articles/"A spike in murders, apparently driven by violence in Chicago, Baltimore and the nation's capital, drove an increase in violent crime in the U.S. in 2015, but crime overall still hovered near historic lows, the FBI said in its latest Crime in the United States report."
Each year that passes, our population grows and we continue to ravage the planet. We can either resume world war (to drop excess people), make birth control mandatory everywhere, or migrate to the Moon and Mars. If you can't see the spectacular achievements of humanity in contrast to our failures...you will feel the way you do. I can't blame you for feeling down, after 60 some years of trying to bridge the gap between countries and people, we are now abandoning our principles in America and diplomacy...everywhere. At home we have leaders who are betraying us ...abroad we have chaos and despots. Nonetheless, try to see the good points...our media (for the most part) has held the fools and scumbags to public account and our institutions are working to further restrict them til we can remove them. There is reason to hope. We can turn this whole thing around in 2020.

True,, we do ravage the planet,,, BUT, if doable, so will Mars be ravaged,, and any other planet human kind get their hands on. Thankfully I'll be gone by the time Mars is settled,,, if it can be settled.

...so will Mars be ravaged,, and any other planet human kind get their hands on. Thankfully I'll be gone by the time Mars is settled,,, if it can be settled. Perhaps we are meant to ravage planets. Our instincts are geared to facing a hostile world...the universe is a hostile place. Nature designed us...whatever we do to further our survival must be considered quite natural. We may ultimately be intended to become a race of space dwellers ala StarTrec. If we develop far enough, we can recreate Earth...or any other world we'd like. If we survive Earth...we have a shot at everything. I see the human race as unique and far more valuable than any one planet...even this one I love so much.
We have twelve years to wean ourselves of fossil fuels. If we don't, prepare for debarkation of our great grandchildren. I personally, see life as an adventure...not a bummer.
