All the best for the Board meeting for your Tuesday night, Larry. It is Wednesday 6.58 am in my part of Australia. I am hoping the greed buggers see reason and you can go back to enjoying retirement again.

Went down hard on a concrete surface. Spent from about 12:30 until almost 6:00 at the local Emergency Room. Separated shoulder, bump on the back of her head, sprained wrist...pretty bunged up. So, I contacted a couple of the folks I had lit a fire under and they were going and planned on stating our case. Promised a recap this morning. Will be staying home today, playing nursemaid. She needs help getting up and down out of bed. Orthopedic appointment 1:30 this afternoon. She's a tough lady! Nothing really serious, but lots of pain. Gettin' old ain't for sissies. Rest of story... She had picked up groceries for a couple of her lady friends that don't get out much. Took the groceries by and dropped them off. Returning home, there was a large cat on our front deck. As she approached the cat, it came to her and acted quite tame. Thinking it might belong to one of our neighbors, she picked up the cat and headed towards the neighbor's house. As she approached the neighbor's house...large furry creature in her arms... she missed a step on the concrete from porch. We watched the video from the neighbor's Ring doorbell camera. She fell backwards onto the concrete sidewalk. The cat went one way and she went another. Actually, she's really lucky! Falling backwards as she did, could have had a pretty severe head injury.

Sending the best healing vibes to your wife 2old. Falls just shake up a person so much. Thankfully nothing is broken but gee not great.

I have been missing in action due to a big bushfire. We evacuated the property on Thursday with the caravan on the back of the Mazda BT and me following in my car. To cut a long story short we are staying with a cousin on her small farm. We are totally self sufficent in our van so we don't have to impose on their life style too much.
I was talking to a mother of a neighbour yesterday and she said our home and shed are safe. What a relief. We were planning to drive home in the BT today for a look see and leave the van and my car here. Not to be. All of the roads leading into Raglan are closed. Hopefully they will be open tomorrow.
One just never knows what a new day will bring.
We are safe here and enjoying Kathy and Jeff's company.

We are totally home now. We drove home yesterday to see if we would be allowed back in and we were. This morning we picked up the van and my car from my cousin's farm. It is so good to be home to a safe house and shed. Part of one of our boundary fences is down where the firies push over the fence to fight a spot fire in that area on our property. All of the cattle are in a neighbour's paddock. They can stay there until the fence is repaired. Elder son and the gang are coming home tonight to help fix up the fence tomorrow. So very grateful to them. I have a bit to do here and to be truthful we are both so tired, so I probably won't be on the games for a short time. How is your wife 2old?

She's getting along pretty well. Found that after taking a fall like she did, she'd have a number of sore muscles throughout the body. She's still religious about wearing her sling. Follow up doc appointment next week.

Good to hear your home / land / cattle escaped OK , joybelle I can feel for people who loose their home , the home where I was living in 1976 was burned down due to a kero fridge in a side room ( sleep out ) where it had plies and piles of rubbish and newspapers ( it was a farm house) The home had so much rubbish init it burned like a matchstick ( all the owners rubbish ) We were left with nothing 3 days before Christmas …no clothing …nothing so my heart gos out to people who have lost homes / possessions.

My heart also goes out to people who lose their home. We drove past a home that was razed and it bought tears to my eyes.

Hope I didn't mess up any of the puzzles. Anesthetic just wearing off from having a molar removed about noon. Dentist had to cut it in half and remove in two parts to keep from breaking it off. Shot the entire area full of really good anesthetic. Wife was happy since my mouth was full of gauze and too numb to talk much this afternoon! :>) Found a fantastic dentist way too late in life. Bad experiences growing up, and along the way, and my teeth paid the price. Found this young man last year when I got hit with a really bad toothache and he yanked it out for me. Really good at explaining every step of the way. He's 4th generation dentist. Great grandfather, grandfather, father and now him. And, his sister is also a dentist.
