Progressive darling and Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York didn’t accurately name the three branches of government on Sunday despite her upcoming role as a congresswoman. “If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress, uh, rather, all three chambers of government — the presidency, the Senate and the House — in 2020,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We can’t start working in 2020.” dailycaller.com/2018/11/19/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-government-branches/---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And she is going to the US House.... but she was voted into the house from NY.

So glad that you found something negative to say, would have been disappointed in you. Good grief, an article from The Daily Caller....
The Daily Caller, a right-winger's delight, all the fairy tales and lies a person needs to construct a proper alternate universe.

Someone nominate her for president! She just turned 29 so she won't be eligible to run for a while, but I can see her as a candidate for President one day in the future. If I'm still on the right side of the grass by the time she runs, she'll have my vote.

Now this is rich! A newly elected Congresswoman mis speaks and you tout it as a sign of incompetence. How ever your "Dear Leader" who reads at a fourth grade level, cannot string together a coherent sentence, is giantly qualified in your mind. Ask me again how our country arrived at this juncture?

She's 29. She represents the future of this country. You're older than dirt. You represent the past. Time for you to sit yourself down in your front porch rocking chair, spread that shawl over your lap, and watch the world go by grampa. It's over for you and "your kind".

The young lady is very "left leaning" and a committed socialist. That should not deny her the right to run for and become part of our Congress... even though I will have significantly differing opinions than she on a number of issues.
The young lady probably understands economics more than most of the general population. To suggest her socialistic views mean she is illiterate when it comes to economics is nothing but a political opinion. Those who believe the only legitimate government is one that promotes wealth to the wealthy and that wealth will trickle down through capitalism is about as illiterate at one who would like to see us totally a socialistic nation. There has to be moderate thought which can mold both opinions into a working model which keeps government alive and the citizens strong... not matter their standard of wealth.
The linked article in the OP can be totally and completely discredited simply due to the author's suggestion the young lady should denied her Congressional seat because she cannot afford rent in D.C. Should each candidate for office be required to have the financial ability to live in a very costly urban area? This young lady understands that she will need to wait for a paycheck before moving to D.C. If a person accepts employment with a firm and has to move to a higher cost of living location, surely they will be receiving a salary that can support living there. Still, they may need some supplemental income or assistance before the first paycheck rolls in. I would much rather have someone who has needed to pinch pennies and work their budget on a weekly/monthly basis looking at our government spending than another billionaire who has never bought a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk.

She's making right wing heads explode all over the place.
That tells me they are scared shitless of her.
I take great pleasure in that.

She is in for a shock. She will learn real fast that if she does not toe the line, her party will bury her in the basement. The Democratic party is still first and foremost the party of the status quo. Nothing she proposes out of the main stream will ever go anyplace. They may let her name a Post Office or something, but that will be about the sum of her contributions.

About 80% of the Democrats in congress need to be primaried out of there. They are just as bad as the Republicans. Starting with Nancy Pelosi.

I can relate to that. When my ex blindsided me with divorce papers I had to live out of my car and sleep in my office and take Hobo's baths in the men's room sink until I saved enough out of my next couple of paychecks to front first last, and security on a one room studio apt.
One morning my boss caught me sleeping in my office. I always slept with my feet up against the door so anyone trying to get in would wake me. So I woke up with someone trying to shove the door open against my feet. I opened it, expecting to see the security guard, but it was my boss that had come in early.
But he was cool with it. He had taken this job from out of town and had slept in his office for a couple of months himself while he was trying to sell his house out of town and buy one here. Us regular people do what we have to to get by. Something those multi-millionaires in congress don't get.

For those of you that are accusing me of beng a misogynist that is afraid of strong women because I won't support your corrupt old hag.
My first pick for speaker would be Tulsi Gabbard.
And Barbara Lee would be fine with me too. Toby ~ Could you give me a term for male politicians like McConnell that is equal to "Corrupt old Hag?" We are all familiar with these derogatory names for females. I couldn't find any that represent corrupt old men. Help me out here.

Maybe we could have a contest and see who can come up with the best one.

I take great pleasure in that. I'm with ya on this, and I think her presence will improve the colon health of the right wing DC swamp sewer dwellers. Still, she needs to strike a balance between ideals and making legislation happen.
Yeah, I know- being called a "sellout" or "corporate shill" is a common occurrence when an idealistic figure tries to build a consensus on issues, or exercise "compromise"[such a dirty word] in order to pass legislation for the greater good. Politics is a b*tch.
