I will probably screw this up as I seem to have a hard time expressing myself. If something is wrong,or you made a mistake at work, or some such other thing, how do you want to be made aware of it? I want to be told directly and succinctly, no mealy mouthed all inclusive language meant to sooth my feelings. I am an adult, please just come out and state your case in plain simple language. Leave out the diplomatic patter and state your case. Being blunt does not equate to rudeness.

I would prefer that my mistake be pointed out but also note taken of the things that I did get right.. Unfortunately in todays workplace.. a hundred "At-a-boy's is cancelled out by one "Oh sh*t" and that's unfortunate. I think people do better feeling they are doing a good job, but there is one aspect that could improve. Making an employee feel all his hard work is crap because of one mistake is not a way to bolster continued good work performance.

I agree. Honest communication at work is fundamental.
