This whole thing was a ploy to; first) detract attention from the whole "Russia thing", second) a publicity stunt to impress his base (ahead of the fall elections) and suck in more gullibles and last but not least a publicity stunt to put himself in the spotlight ad nauseum. He's little by little aligning himself with the world's dictators - kind of like the triumvirate of WWII - and alienating our erstwhile allies. The con men are doing a con job on each other - and I thing Kim is a whole lot smarter than trump

Intellectualism is dead. In 2008 the voters elected Barak Obama for many reasons, but for most his keen intellect was NOT one of the reasons.

He certainly seems oddly impressed and enamored of the worlds most despicable dictators doesn't he... while he has turned his back on our oldest and most loyal allies.. Seems to me he is emulating their behavior and has even joked about being president for life. He has no use for democratically elected officials.. why should he?.. Russia appointed him.

Just exactly WHAT has he accomplished? What did N.Korea concede? Where are the details? Trump was the one that gave away the store.. A personal meeting.. N.Korea has been trying to get that for 40 years.. They are now recognized.. Stopping military drills with S.Korea… another N.Korean AND Chinese dream. So what did they give? A vague promise to denuclearize? When? What are the terms? How will it be inspected, when, how often and by whom? They PLAYED the TRUMP card bigly... If this is epic.. it's epic because America has been played for a fool... thanks to that moron in the WH. The truth is this is a big win for Trump. And you can't stand it can you?
I not say win.... maybe I say a good start... but US and South Korea give up war-games.... North Korea?? Nothing but maybes..... time will tell....

They gave the same "Maybes" in 1985... We see where that went.

You think South Korea feels any safer with US troops leaving and with the lying dictator in the North's vague promise??? Are our Troops leaving South Korea?
If so, I'd say it's about time, since that war has been over for 65 YEARS.

Among the many tactics President Donald Trump rolled out in his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore was apparently a four-minute video, styled like a movie trailer, that casts Trump and Kim as the heroes of a story about “two men, two leaders, one destiny.” It was part of an overall pitch that reaching a deal between the US and North Korea would help North Korea advance technologically and economically — including, Trump suggested, some real estate development. www.vox.com/world/2018/6/12/17452876/trump-kim-jong-un-meeting-north-korea-video

I'm sure that doesn't make others in the region feel any safer.. Another thing.. Did you know that bringing home all those troops will NOT save us money? It is cheaper to keep them there since South Korea pays 50% of the cost of maintaining them.. Bringing them home will be much more expensive as we will then have to foot 100% of the bill to keep them home or send them elsewhere.

Being Taiwanese, I can no help but say I do not trust North Korea.... not one bit.... They for one have sided with the PRC against my country..... Kim just a ruthless dictator....Xi Jinping of PRC at least on world stage is more acceptable.... but Kim just not a trustworthy person.... not even now.... I afraid Trump was played.... and well played for Kim now has prestige boost and some legitimacy given to his rogue nation.... there is nothing agreed about North Korea freezing plutonium and uranium programs that they are running now.... nothing about destroying intercontinental ballistic missiles that they already have in place.... nothing about allowing international inspectors to return to nuclear sites to verify anything is being done......nothing about a timetable to get all of this started or done.....,and most important part that there was no clear pledge to permanently halt testing of nuclear weapons or long-range missiles.... However, Trump might build luxury beach houses/Hotels?????...... This isn't a big win..... we gave up security for empty words from a despot.... and all the praise that Trump placed on Kim..... calling him trustworthy person.... a great man..... he loves his country and people..... uh huh..... okay.... that is why they starving.... and he kills off even members of own family..... Trump just loves dictators but Allies.... they get booted...... this summit no impress me at all.... nothing substantive was accomplished.

No thought to the fact that maybe they would prefer to be home?
As for the South Koreans, they can fight their own battles.
When I was in Vietnam those ROK's were known for being some of the most bad a$$ soldiers ever.

Trump really did get played. Problem is that he's too stupid to realize it.
