Ran the leaf blower for 3 hours this afternoon. Hubby mowed grass after taking the vehicle in for an inspection. Our backyard was blanketed in about 12 hours with leaves. After the two really cold mornings, guess the leaves decided to fall. Going to wait until the trees are bare before mulching as many as I can. The rest I will pick up with the lawn more, bag, and haul to the local composting area. Need to mow one more time. Would prefer to wait until most of the leaves are down and not have to do it twice. Began this morning at the ER. From ER to hospital room. Released about 5 p.m. and back home. Nothing serious. Plan to be tormenting people on TRF for many years to come!!!! Doc even said I could tee it up tomorrow. Will see how I feel in the morning.

You better take it easy my friend! We've had mornings below 32ºF several days. We had 24ºF this morning and it rained leaves again, once the sun came out. Couldn't even see the grass, that's how the yard was blanketed. Grass really needed mowed. Probably will have to do it one more time.

A simply beautiful day!!! Played 18 holes this morning. Did a pick up at Kroger's for the wife. Pretty laid back day. Dog is a mess. For some reason, she want to sit on my lap. She will stay here about 5 minutes, then goes sits on the wife's lap. Just get comfortable and her she comes back to sit on mine. I believe she think this is a game! We don't!!!! :>)

2old, glad that this is not something overly serious. Please don't minimize health issues, and please pace yourself, especially with the yard work. I got my flu vaccine this afternoon. This time, it was the extra-strength Fluzone quadrivalent version for seniors. I usually feel pretty drab for a day or two after flu shots, so plan to relax and take it very easy tomorrow.

2old , glad that this is not something overly serious. We've had the "old folks" dosage the past few years. Neither one of us has had a negative reaction to our flu shots. Good luck! Three quarters of a century on the Earth seems to be catching up. Still is so much better physical health than so many our age. We take that as a blessing, but know we need to do what's best to make it last. Have such great medical facilities in our community!!! I've had two calls, today, from doctors that saw me last Friday to check on me... from the doctors themselves!! Another large medical complex is under construction set to open late in 2023. In addition to the current dynamic state of our community, a federal biotech facility that has been under construction for about 5 years just opened. They will employ 300. Our governor just secured a Panasonic facility for our community that will employ over 500 with an average salary of $50,000+. The medical community is already beginning to anticipate the needs as we grow. A state university which was founded in the 1860's and a large military complex have been the backbone of our community. That means almost 80% of our community is employed by some part of local, state, or federal governments. The Panasonic facility will give us some larger industrial employment. Life is good!!!!!

Ad the flu and the Covid shot today in the same arm. We shall see tomorrow, how I feel. Lol
Spending time in the ER is no fun. Glad that you are okay 2 old. Last kidney stone surgery, they found a slight heart murmur on me. They are trying to kill me.

I went to breakfast with my daughter and 5 month old grandson this morning. It still feels weird saying that, as I'm only 43, but had her at 22 and she had him at 20. Anyway, then I went shopping. Now I'm home cooking for All Souls Day. I just finished a batch of Soul Cakes and now I have potatoes & onions roasting in the oven, and corn-on-the-cob, squash, & fresh green beans cooking on the stove. The rolls will be done last.

That sounds and smells so good! What time do you want all of us to be there? ;)
Enjoy your meal and the people around the table.
A young grandmother is a good thing. They can keep up with the grandchildren. For a little while anyway. Lol.
Have a good time!

"Harem" day. Ugh! No golf due to rain. So, one of wife's friends needed to visit a specialist located in a difficult place to access. "Honey, can you drive us?" That interrupted my putting a vacuum back together I've repaired for another of her lady friends. Have a doc appointment early afternoon. Need to run 2 sticks of butter by another lady's house on my way so she doesn't have to get out in the rain.
I don't need it, but will now be gifted with some fresh backed goods as payment. Guess they want me to add some weight to keep me warm this winter. :>)

Took down some of my pumpkin decor. Put up pilgrims and turkey. Love putting decorations out, hate putting them away.

Due to rain, yesterday and overnight, was cart path only on the golf course. Got my fair share of walking in from cart path to golf ball. Still played well and won a little from the geezers.
Didn't even get away from the golf course before getting a call from one of the maintenance staff. She was left alone to finish up a couple jobs. Got her ATV stuck out in the boonies at the course. I got another ATV from the maintenance shop and got hers pulled out of the muck.
We don't have a very large home. Wife is expecting 18 to 20 in for Thanksgiving. So, it's imperative I begin trying to clear, clean, etc. so we can accommodate that many inside if the weather is bad. Sheesh! Don't know if I'll keep this lady around another 56 years of not!!!!

Cold nights so long frost delays at the course. Will head out in a little while, assuming we won't get started before 10:00 or 11:00.
Wife's sister flew in yesterday afternoon. She will stay and fly back to Cheyenne on Friday.
Wife still expecting 20+ for Thanksgiving. Let's see. If my calculations are correct for those over 16...
100% MAGA... 9 Moderate, but lean GOP... 5 or 6 Those with any semblance of common sense... 4 or 5
Not looking forward to this at all!!!!! The sister-in-law that is spending this week is hardcore MAGA. May put a hasp on the outside of here bedroom door and lock her away!!! :>) Gonna be a looooonnng week!

Last night was the December Board of Directors meeting for our golf club. The December meeting is called to order and old business is acted on by the current... 2022... Board. That meeting is adjourned and a second meeting called to order. The second meeting is new business and held by the new... 2023... Board. The first order of business by the new board is election of President and VP for the next year. Well, guess who came home with the gavel? Yep! I was elected President for 2023. Don't know if that's a good thing or not!
2023 will be my sixth... and last... year on the Board. I have served as Building Committee Chairman, Grounds & Greens Committee Chairman, and Vice President this past year. Have been on the Finance Committee all five years.
We have had excellent Boards this past few years. It looks like we will have another very positive... and committed... board in 2023. We have the largest budget our club has ever had. Scary with the fragile economy, etc. But, we have the most professional staff of any course in the area. Our task is to support them and assist them in any way we can.
Will be a fun year. Mother Nature plays a big part in the life of a golf course... especially one next to a river that has been known to flood. At least it should keep me out of the recliner for at least another year.
