Well, I am having a small bowl of high fiber bran + oat cereal with 2% milk. it's better than going to bed hungry, which I don't do too well. I found an article googling "late snacks"... 11 Nutritionist-Approved Late Night SnacksI did an extra hour of aerobic plus an additional 20 minutes of walking today, so that should help me "pay" for this snack! At home I often have almonds for a snack in the evening - between 7 and 8. I weigh them carefully though. And I often have something that I probably shouldn't - caffeine free diet coke.

...lately I've been(my stomach's been) having feelings of hunger around 9pm. I'm sure that's the work of the Devil! Killing any progress toward weight loss that I might have achieved for the day. I hear you. That happens to me all the time. Late night munchies. I've never been a heroin addict but I can't imagine that their cravings are any worse than the ones I get when I need a chow fix. It got so bad last night that I made up one of my special Toby Tyler's Tuna Helper recipes. A half of a cup of black eyed peas mixed into a can of Tuna in Olive oil with garlic. That's about 400 calories of serious comfort food for me. Added to the 2,000 I already had brought me up to 2,400 for the day. But ironically when I stepped on the scales this morning I was 211. That's 2 lbs LESS than the day before. Such are the fluctuations of water retention.
Anyway, this morning I did the 2 mile walk in 40 minutes. The rest of the day will be dedicated to couch potatoing.

A half of a cup of black eyed peas mixed into a can of Tuna in Olive oil with garlic. I'm always in-the-market for a new, healthy recipe....added. By the way, I'm always cutting n' pasting recipes I find on the internet, and using Google Docs to create and store my collection "in the cloud", accessible at any time from whatever device I'm using.

Well, tonight was one more holiday pig-feast, as 1/2 of the Christmas get-together family members were sick and couldn't "do" the Christmas event. So, after too many slices of pizza, more teriyaki wings than I can count, pieces of fudge and slices of cake that take my calorie total completely through the roof... ...I am now finally ready to proceed with my "losin' it" campaign.

Take heart.. ALL of us have pig out days where we lose our minds.. However, as my WW leader always said.. "It's not about what you do.. It's about what you do NEXT" and that means getting back on the wagon and moving back toward weight loss and control. It's always going to be a struggle, I've accepted that.. and I've accepted that I am going to have setbacks and pig out days.. but in the long run I plan to control my weight and be healthy.

Yea you're right about that. My daughter in law summed it up by saying "tomorrow is a new day". College girl!

People really shouldn't be weighing themselves everyday.. For example.. If I didn't realize other factors could be at play, I could become completely discouraged.. I've come in under 1000 calories 2 days in a row.. AND I have gained 1 pound..

I do know fluid makes a difference in what the scale says and I keep that in mind.

I am still adamant about getting my BMI down to what my Doctor recommended for me, meaning 210 lb.s or less. No sweets, limited red meats! Portion control. I'm looking for meal containers that I can put together en masse, and have healthy portions ready to eat. In order to meet this goal by April(post#1) I'd have to lose one pound a week. Not sure how that would go, but do able.

Keeping in mind that weight comes off easier and faster in the early weeks, but will slow down the closer you get to your goal.. I'm only 6 pounds from my goal and I'm happy if I don't gain week to week and ecstatic if I loose only a tenth of a pound.. It's a long journey, and it's easy to get discouraged when the pounds don't come off as easily as they did in the beginning.

I don't have my heart set on the -1 lb per week, if I'm just making 'some' progress or not gaining, I can be happy.
Wife made chocolate chunk cookies today, ate 3 of them. Tomorrow's another day.
