Thanks for the congrats. People always ask me, "How old do you feel?" I don't know what to answer. Life goes on and I guess I feel 78. How does a person answer that question? The floaters are still very annoying. My brain certainly is not doing a good job of teaching me to ignore them. I'm getting used to them, but I won't be driving at night anymore. I put up my Christmas tree tonight and the little lights are 2 or 3 times their normal size when I look at them. Well... it could be worse. Did you doctor mention cataracts? Halos around lights are a sign of that.. I have developing cataracts and I see little spikes coming out of street lights at night.. they look like stars.. Pretty.. but a bit annoying. However, doc says that I am not needing surgery at this point.. Eventually I will.

QuickSilver ~ I mentioned in my opening post that I had cataract surgery on both eyes 3 years ago. I have those spikes around lights. They are now bigger than ever.

I'm sorry... I read your opening post awhile ago and didn't remember.. just read the last post about the Christmas lights looking big Cataracts can come back... Well.. that was the first sign for me. when I looked up at the sky and stars and every star looked like it was the Christmas star with spikes... then I started to see stars in the streetlights . My vision is still very good though and surgery is not necessary at this time. I go to my ophthalmologist every year to have them checked and to have my eyes dilated to look for any eye disease.. It is covered by Medicare..

I am familiar with seeing the "Christmas star" as I drive at night. It is very familiar now and very annoying.

I had floaters come on when I was about 60, 20 some yrs ago. They are hardly in my eyes now. I was told by an eye doc around the same time, cataracts were on the way. Here I am at close to 81 and hardly any floaters and no "cats".. What I did was get to work on and take eye supports and they are:
Grape Seed Extract Vit C Lutein with or without Bilberry Crystalline Eye Drops (homeopathic) found these about 3 yrs ago Similasan Eye Drops (homeopathic) for Dry Eyes
My last eye doc visit was about 10 yrs ago and I love love love NOT going to any doctor...
My reading and distance scripts have not changed in at least 10 yrs.
And I wear SunGlasses when outside in sun or gloom.

I have one floater in each eye, common after cataract surgery, but I hardly notice them any more and they don't interfere with reading, watching tv, and so on.
The so-called visual aberrations/anomalies (halos, lines through lights, etc.) are most common, and usually more severe, after cataract surgery for those people with astigmatism. I was born with astigmatism in both eyes, and have all these visual issues since cataract surgeries 9 years ago. Driving at night is no longer possible; the visual effects of oncoming headlights would make it lethally dangerous. I don't plan to own a car again, anyway.

No blurry eyes, nadda...why do I have to have a doc tell me I need a change in scripts? It's taken years to get wise and I finally have...I went to the eye doc faithfully as THEY recommended for years. They never recommended eye supports but Dr. Google and that team sure does.
