... that I haven't been posting much.
Really depressed by the White House/Congress issues. More depressed that good people and common sense cannot fix stupidity, large egos, paid politicians, etc. No matter how much we care... no matter how much we talk/discuss... we cannot change things. So...
Started to see if this old body could play 18 holes of golf 7 days/week. Great bunch of guys I play with and we really have fun. Spending an hour before the tee time discussion world problems and telling the same old jokes for the second or third time is time well spent. 3 hours or so in a really competitive game where the money stakes can see you win or lose 75 cents to a dollar keeps the mind sharp. Then to head out for lunch with the guys and hear the same jokes that you heard before the round.... You get the picture. I finally found life was more than spending time regurgitating the Trump fiasco.
Wife has a brother-in-law 9 hours west of us in really poor health. A perpetual hypochondriac, he has every ailment ever known to man. Hadn't been out there for about 5 years so decided to go this past weekend. Loaded the wife's brother and sister-in-law in the car last Friday and away we went. Good food and too much of it. Good conversation if you could get a word in edgewise with the brother-in-law telling of the ailments he has had, has, or will have. He was coughing and wheezing the entire weekend. On oxygen, so assumed the hacking was part of his pulmonary problems. Well, Sunday night the sister-in-law who had ridden out with us and myself came down with the "creepin' crud". Cough and cough and cough. Heart racing. Eyes so matted and watering can't even see to walk. Headed back home. I was so sick I let the brother-in-law drive all the way back. By the time we got home, my wife was beginning to cough and wheeze. Yesterday, wife's brother also came down with this junk.
I'm much better today. Chest congestion loosened up. Still coughing and still awfully tired. Stayed off the golf course.... more due to rain than illness. (Had I played, would have been grounds for divorce by my wife of 50 years.) Wife's crud beginning to break today. This stuff just knocks the legs out from under you. I take tons of vitamins and supplements. Just don't get colds. We also have our flu shots. This is some sort of respiratory virus that is unbelievably contagious and runs it's course in about 48 hours.
I may attempt to get back to posting once in a while. Who knows. Just climbing the walls ready to get back on the golf course.... AND over this crud!!!!
Enjoy your day. Will follow with a post of how my day has gone other than trying to get over this respiratory stuff.
