Hillary Clinton has been named by Gallop Polls as the world's most admired woman for the past 21 years - last poll date Dec. 2017. Is it possible she lost the election just simply because there are still too many Americans who think the presidency is a man's job? Was admiration not enough or was she admired but still not considered competent?
Although Clinton's time has come and gone, do you think the first female American president is on the political scene yet? If so, who?

i think that it's going to be difficult for a woman.once a woman breaks through it will be easier.the last election will have an effect for some years.

Nikki Haley has been talked about as a woman who might be a candidate in the future. She's run a state and has a tough reputation; she certainly stood up to that idiot Kudlow last week. What a tool!

It will be interesting to see who the Democrats get behind for a 2020 ticket. Politico has a piece dated November 2017 in which it lists Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren as potential female candidates. I see that Maggie Hassan, the senator from NH (and former governor) has been mentioned in the past as a possible candidate. Not sure if any of these women will run, but I think it's very likely that we'll see one of them on the ticket come 2020.

Warren is the only one on that list that I would consider..I don't know enough about Klouchar or Hassan to make any judgment. Gillibrand is a big disappointment to me as a senator. She ran as a center right Democrat, but the second she was elected became a Schumer sycophant. Maybe as junior senator she has to cowtow a bit,but she has given her whole spine to Schumer.

I'll never forgive Gillibrand for what she did to Al Franken... thought Democrats believed in due process... instead she lead the charge to ruin him based on dubious facts from dubious characters (Roger Stone for one) without even trying to delve into the facts. All this to further her own ambitions, likely seeing Franken as a rival.. She will NEVER get my vote.

I'll never forgive Gillibrand for what she did to Al Franken... If that roly-poly little bat faced runt had grabbed my wife's a$$ like he did that guy's at the Minnesota State fair I would have beat him down until he was nothing more than a grease spot on the pavement.

Franken denies "Grabbing"... but she claims he did.. so again.. it's her word we believe? As for the breast grabbing picture.. photographers and other witnesses claim that was a staged photo.. and the "victim" was awake and in on the joke.. Who do you believe? I don't know... This is why a hearing should have happened and Franken as well as the "victims" should have testified under oath.. THAT is due process... it didn't happen here... As for YOU? I wouldn't expect any less of a violent response... that's just how you role... Likely it's all BS and bluster..

Over 1/2 of all Americans can't even name one Supreme Court Justice.

So it's a no wonder that a woman who has been in the public eye for a quarter of a century and is just coming off spending over a BILLION bucks advertising herself in her run for the Presidency gets named a lot. For a lot of these morons taking the poll it was probably the only name they could think of on short notice.

I have no way of knowing for sure, but I strongly suspect Hillary lost because angry white males greatly fear a woman of Hillary's intelligence and accomplishments. She has been the target of the GOP (in particular) for many years. They have made all kinds of accusations - without much consideration for their truthfulness. They have been deliberately "primed" to hate her for what they have accused her of doing - not what she has actually done. I have heard much of their nonsense. Show them proof of her innocence of their BS accusations and they refuse to believe. The fact that they are still using her to deflect and excuse is a pretty good indication of their fear. I suspect it will be a few more years of growing in our country before a woman can "make it". I don't think it would be wise to run a woman in the next presidential election. We really NEED to win and I don't think, we've grown enough for that yet.

Franken has been proven to be a "sexual predator"... when? Has there been a hearing.. has there been sworn testimony.... NO? Didn't think so..
I would have no problem accepting Franken as guilty if he were to bring about a civil slander case and his accusers were put on the stand to testify under oath... and Franken also allowed to tell his side along with witnesses.. There was no reason to ruin his career in this Knee Jerk reaction.. Women are NOT always honest... and men not always guilty. I think the "Me Too" movement has a danger of becoming weaponized and women no matter what their motives will be believed no questions asked.. Just hang the bastards.. why??? because she said so...
