I generally approve of the progressive track California has been on, but with California Gun Laws you need to consult an attorney on any action you want to take, as every violation
is potentially a felony.

"Not what I posted....read the post." Sorry about that mistake, oldmontana. If I could delete the post I would. If I could edit the post I would. Can't do either of those so instead I'll just say I'm sorry I misquoted you. I'm also sorry I called your post excellent and said it was the best post ever. Obviously I misunderstood you. Your post is in know way excellent and certainly not the best post ever - far from it. I stand corrected.

With over 325 million guns in this country, it's impossible to confiscate them without having a major civil war against gun owners. Just the AR-15 owners alone, would go crazy before they gave them up. Those gun nuts are ready for any program to take them...like the organization Timothy McVeigh belonged to.
The founding fathers never intended to have an epidemic of mass school shooters, and other assorted gun nuts. Self defense was to take out nuts, not armies. Back then, this country didn't even have an army, that's what a militia was provided for in the constitution.
The founding fathers had enough "common sense" to know that the NRA is the enemy, that promotes distrust of the government, and encourages kids to become gun nuts.
There's a gun nut here where I live, that has a WWII Willies Jeep with an M60 mounted on it....and he drives all over all the towns in the area in it. When I lived in Montana, there were guys that owned Soviet MIG's that flew all over the state in them.
The founding fathers never intended for corporations and special interests (like the NRA) to own the politicians either.
The founding fathers would be plotting an overthrow of the government we have today, just because of all the amendments that the crooked politicians have added, that declares "corporations are people", and allowing money to buy politicians. The U.S.A has become what the founding fathers were fighting against....the super rich few owning everything.

Thing is, most of the gun owners are law abiding, and are hesitant of becoming felons over the ownership of a gun or rifle that becomes banned. Long before a weapon does become banned, the owner will be required to "register" it; failure to do so will push that[otherwise law-abiding] citizen into the felon category. Here in California people that own firearms recently designated as "assault rifles" have 16 weeks 0 days left to register them. Thankfully, my Ruger Mini 14 escaped(for now) being designated as an AR, by the oncoming legislative effort. I think I will just sell the Mini 14, and get a Henry's lever action rifle, it'll take the state legislature a 100 years before they get around to banning that.

The founding fathers had enough "common sense" to know that the NRA is the enemy, that promotes distrust of the government, and encourages kids to become gun nuts. NRA Gave $7 Million to 100s of Schools: CA, FL Broward Co, CO, NM, AK, More. "THE NRA GAVE $7 MILLION TO HUNDREDS OF SCHOOLS," MSN/AP, March 9, 2018 The National Rifle Association has dramatically increased its funding to schools in recent years amid a national debate over guns and school violence, an Associated Press analysis of tax records has found. But few say they plan to give up the money in the aftermath of the latest mass shooting. The AP analysis of the NRA Foundation's public tax records finds that about 500 schools received more than $7.3 million from 2010 through 2016, mostly through competitive grants meant to promote shooting sports. The grants have gone to an array of school programs, including the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, rifle teams, hunting safety courses and agriculture clubs. In some ways, the grant distribution reflects the nation's deep political divide over guns. Nearly three-quarters of the schools that received grants are in counties that voted for President Donald Trump in the 2016 election, while a quarter are in counties that voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton, according to the AP analysis. Most are in medium-sized counties or rural areas, with few near major cities. California received the most in school grants, more than $1 million, while Florida was a close second. Florida's Broward County school district is believed to be the first to stop accepting NRA money after a gunman killed 17 people at one of its schools Feb. 14. The teen charged in the shooting had been on a school rifle team that received NRA funding. School officials announced the change Tuesday but declined to comment further. Denver Public Schools followed on Thursday, saying it won't pursue NRA grants in the future and will turn down several that were to be awarded this year. But officials in many other districts say they have no plans to back away. "Whatever I think of the NRA, they're providing legitimate educational services," said Billy Townsend, a school board member in Florida's Polk County district, whose JROTC programs received $33,000, primarily to buy air rifles. "If the NRA wanted to provide air rifles for our ROTC folks in the future, I wouldn't have a problem with that." The grants awarded to schools are just a small share of the $61 million the NRA Foundation has given to a variety of local groups since 2010. But it has grown rapidly, increasing nearly fourfold from 2010 to 2014 in what some opponents say is a thinly veiled attempt to recruit the next generation of NRA members. The NRA Foundation did not return calls seeking comment...Con't. It is really sick when people protect their guns more than their children.

"Whatever I think of the NRA, they're providing legitimate educational services," said Billy Townsend, a school board member in Florida's Polk County district, So, that's what they call a bribe now - a legitimate educational service? How can people like this sleep at night? The love of money truly is the root of all evil, isn't it? I agree, Kady. It is sick. The love of money, including money from those that manufacture killing machines, is more precious to some Americans than anything else. Money is our god and we worship that particular god more than anything, or anyone. So, that's why we have "In God We Trust" printed on all our money. God = Money. Praise Money! lol.
