Agreed. While all religious people are nutjobs, not all nutjobs are religious. Take me for instance. I'm a nutjob. But I am not in the least bit religious. Well, thanks again for doubling down on the insult to my sanity. In place of an apology I will accept your self assessment as accurate.
Yes, I am a nutjob. I am one of the good nutjobs. You people need people like me to man the wall between Good and Evil. And while our existence may seem grotesque and incomprehensible to you, deep down inside in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall.

I wish this was a joke. But, it's not. Someone once said religion can be an infectious disease that attacks one brain after the other. Or, something like that. It's these kind of stories that makes me think there might be some element of truth in that. www.newsweek.com/ar-15-church-blessing-pennsylvania-815013Wonder what kind of prayers the children in this church say at bedtime. God bless Mom and Dad and Nana and Pop-Pop and the AR-15. Amen. Imagine no religion. It's easy if you try. Maybe like that old tune from the WW II era: 'Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition'

Religion is not the problem, like much of everything- it's what people DO with it.

Religion is not the problem, like much of everything- it's what people DO with it. IMHO, the world would be much better off without religion. It's a net negative.

From the article: "The World Peace and Unification Sanctuary"...does anyone remember the Right-Wing South Korean cult called The Moonies?
Right-winger forms a "church"(cult) for broader appeal and to [try to] legitimize the movement...hardly a good example of religion.
On the contrary, such movements lend religion a bad name, weakening the hold that legitimate religions have, and injecting the venom of the cult of hate and greed.
So, disregard the "church" reference in the headline, insert instead the term- "band of nutjobs" and you'll have a clearer picture of the actual story.
I agree. There is a wide gulf between mainstream churches and the extreme rightwing "nutjobs." The nutjobs make a lot more noise and a lot more headlines, but they certainly do not represent the vast majority of Christians who go quietly about their lives and try to live their faith.
